Ayrshire Cow

The Ayrshire is a Scottish breed of dairy cattle known for its distinctive red and white coat and elegant statue. With their alert eyes and upright ears, Ayrshire cows exude a sense of intelligence and grace. An efficient grazer, renowned for their excellent milk production, Ayrshires provide rich and flavourful milk with moderate butterfat content, making it ideal for a variety of dairy products. They are especially known for their superior shape and quality of the udder.

Brown Swiss Cow

The Brown Swiss cow is a magnificent breed admired for its striking appearance and gentle demeanour. Characterised by its sleek brown coat, ranging from light tan to deep chocolate, and distinctively shaped horns, the Brown Swiss cow exudes a sense of rustic elegance. Known for its exceptional milk production, Brown Swiss cows produce rich, creamy milk with high butterfat content. Beyond their productivity, Brown Swiss cows are valued for their docile nature and adaptability to various climates and management systems.

Holstein Cow

The Holstein cow is an iconic symbol of the dairy industry, recognised for its distinctive black and white markings and impressive size. With their striking contrast and gentle demeanour, Holsteins are a familiar sight on farms around the world. Renowned for their high milk production, Holstein cows are prized for their ability to efficiently convert feed into copious amounts of nutritious milk. This milk is characterised by its white colour and lower butterfat content.

Jersey Cow

The Jersey is a British breed of small dairy cattle from Jersey which adapts well to various climates and environments, and unlike many breeds originating in temperate climates, tolerates heat well. It is renowned for its elegant appearance, characterised by a sleek, caramel-coloured coat and distinctive, doe-like eyes. Known for their gentle nature and friendly disposition, they are beloved members of many farms worldwide. Beyond their beauty, they are valued for their rich and creamy milk, prized by dairy enthusiasts for its high butterfat content and distinct flavour profile. A farmer told us at one of our events he calls them the cow version of a Labrador.
