About George & Natalie Buse

Nestled on the scenic Camel Estuary in Rock, St Minver, George and his wife Natalie are proud third generation dairy farmers. Their farm is a true family run partnership, where they work closely with their dedicated herdsman, Tyler, whose passion for the cows is evident in everything he does.

The farm is home to a herd of 180 predominantly Hostein Fresian cows, with some Norwegian Red Cross breeding, which has enhanced the herd’s overall health, longevity, and milk quality – resulting in higher milk fat and protein levels. The cows thrive on a simple yet nutritious diet of grass and cake. From March through November, they graze freely on lush pasture, producing 1.5 million litres of milk annually.

Always looking to innovate, George and Natalie are experimenting with herbal leys, a diverse mix of grasses and herbs designed to improve soil health and drought tolerance. These sustainable practices aim to future proof the land for generations to come.

The farm operates on a year round calving system, which keeps Natalie busy with calf rearing alongside another seasonal enterprise – asparagus farming. Every May and June, their asparagus business comes to life, adding another layer to their diverse farming operation.

Why they like to work at Trewithen

George and Natalie joined Trewithen in June 2024. They feel the business resembles the same family run ethos that they value, maintaining Cornish heritage within milk production. They are very proud to be a supplier and consumer of exclusively Cornish dairy products from grass grazed cows, and feel the Trewithen butter is a particularly good companion with their asparagus on summer BBQs!
