About Peter & Sheila Cox
Peter is a fourth generation farmer working in partnership with his wife Sheila and parents Briand and Patricia. They farm around 200 acres in glorious South East Cornwall, with the farm producing close to 2 million litres of milk from their lovely cows per year.
Why they like to work at Trewithen
They enjoy supplying Trewithen Dairy with their high-quality milk knowing that is turned into fantastic Cornish dairy products sold across the country. The great working relationship between Trewithen and the supplying farmers was one of the reasons they joined partnership with them several years ago.
Main Cow Breed
They milk around 150 Holstein Freisians.
Favourite Cow
They have many favourite cows but one family favourite would have to be Sherry, you can’t walk past her without giving her a massive cuddle and back scratch.
Their regen journey so far
Peter and Sheila’s regenerative journey began a few years back through a continued interest in looking after their soils. With the use of minimum tillage, aeration of their soils, and good use of organic matter and very recently the introduction of herbel lays into their system.
They were interested in joining the project to see if they could continue the regen journey further on their farm, and they are looking forward to seeing what they can achieve.
