About Simon & Alison Ward
Simon and Alison Ward are first generation farmers having transitioned from managing a dairy farm in Dorset to gaining the tenancy of Trevorder Farm just outside of Wadebridge. They have 360 cows based at Trevorder Farm which consists of 260 acres plus another 220 acres near the North Cornwall coast. Trevorder is down to grass leys and they have had herbal seed mixture direct drilled into them this year. They produce 3.7 milllion litres of milk a year and have supplied Trewithen for over 13 years. Ben their oldest son joined the business five years ago and enjoys working with the cows.
Why they like to work at Trewithen
Simon and Alison like working at Trewithen as they feel valued and feel Trewithen understand that they want the very best for their cows.
Main Cow Breed
Their cows are predominantly Holstein Fresians, crossed with Fleckvieh and Norwegian Red giving them a robust animal that can graze well in the summer.
Favourite Cow
Simon’s favourite cow is Snowbell who being very intelligent is always up to something normally looking for extra food!
